At Dog And Me Learning Center I strive to help you and your furry friend become a team. Training not just your pup, but also you, in the way you should handle and proper techniques to use when working with your dog. Training is not just about commands and tricks, but about the functionality of you and your dog as partners. Creating the ability for understanding needs and languages that people typically can’t see. Having the person learn healthy boundaries for their dog and teaching you how to properly guide your puppy through the phases of their lives without them becoming confused with you expect from them.
Drop In Classes:
Description: Price is per session. Drop in is exactly what it means, the ability to drop in on any of our classes listed above.
Conformation: $15
Obedience: $15
Scent Work: $25
Private Classes
Description: Private sessions are one hour in duration. It entails one on one time with you and your puppy.
Price: $75
Beginner Obedience
Description: For dogs that are over 5 months old with little training. Class will provide socialization with other dogs and people on leash.
Puppy Push-Up will be taught or continued depending on skill of dog.
Leash walking will be directing the dog to walk on the “left” side of the person.
Introduction of the sit when stopping.
Introduction of the stay at the sit, down and stand.
Continuing working on the come command.
Teaching "leave it".
Continue working on the focus of the dog on the handler.
Introduction to the importance of foot work for the handler to make it easier for the dog to get the queques. About turn, Right turn and Left turn
Guide and direct, when do you correct? discussion here as most are not ready for corrections at this stage.

Puppy Class
Description: For puppies that have had their 2nd shots up to about 6 months old.
Class will provide socialization with other puppies, people and situations. They will learn the following:
Puppy Push Up – Sit, down, Stand (words and body positions) Walking on a leash
The start of focus on YOU.
Coming when called
Confidence building using different equipment (ramps, tunnels, Tubes, hoops, mirrors etc)
Conditioning to different sounds
Different people handling them
Most important the fun of learning

Rally Signs
Introduction to Rally signs, the meaning of each one
Learning the basics (sit, Stand, Back, Down, etc)
Experiencing the signs so the action is more automatic on the handler's part.
Sequencing from one sign to another for smoother transactions
Working on keeping and maintaining focus for each exercise.

Scent Work
Description: Scent work is one of the newer areas of learning for many people. It is learning to understand what your dog is communicating to you. We use the power of Birch, Anise and Clove as the scents to search.
You will first teach the dog to search for the ever favorite (for most), food.
This is done to increase the drive in the dog. Our method is to develop the desire and drive to search for an odor. Teaching the odor is the easy part.
The hard part is teaching the owner/handler how to “read” the dog.
The beginning 6 weeks builds drive and desire to search for the food regardless of where it is placed. Odor is introduced during the second 6 weeks.
This course is not one that is completed quickly to be successful. It is fun for the dog regardless of breed, size, determination. The dog that tends to be reactive in group situations will usually excel in scent because all dogs are worked individually. Building confidence in a dog and a dog/handler
